Finance is our topic this month. People in other business fields often wonder what finance has to do with the social impacts of business – and finance academics and professionals don't necessarily have a better idea.

Our research shows that finance education at the MBA level is slowly incorporating social and environmental issues – but that it tends to do so without truly wrestling with the most fundamental topic – the purpose of a corporation in the first place.
