    Dear colleagues,

    We are delighted to inform you of our new exciting policy conference on 'Business Experiences and Social Responsibilities: Between Global Challenges and EU Economic Policies', which will take place at the Monash University Centre in Prato (Italy) on 24 and 25 September 2012.

    The conference is sponsored by the Monash European and EU Centre, the International Business Research Group (IBRG) at the University of Adelaide Business School, and the Department of Management at Monash University. This conference follows the European Business Ethics Network Conference (which will be held at the IESE Business School in Barcelona on 19-22 September 2012).

    In recognition of the wide variety of business aspects or activities affected by the new changes in the EU business operating environment, papers are invited on the following topics:·
    - New ethical and social responsibility issues for businesses operating in an enlarging and integrating European Union: the EU debt crisis, the euro crisis, effects of the global financial crisis;
    - The place of corporate social responsibility in the European social model;
    - Multiculturalism and the impact of globalisation on cultural diversity: challenges faced by internationalising non-EU businesses operating in the EU (e.g. experience sharing between Australia and EU countries; and
    -The role of philosophical criticism in shaping economic, political and legal institutions and their impact on economic action.

    We are pleased to have the following keynote speakers at this conference: Professor Pierre Guillet de Monthoux (Head) and Professor Anna Leander, from the Department for Management, Politics and Philosophy, Copenhagen Business School;  Associate Professor Susan Freeman, from the University of Adelaide Business School; and Dr Cristina Neesham, from the Department of Management at Monash University.
