    Apologies for Cross-Postings.

This collection of articles, which address the question
Is quantitative research ethical? is the third virtual special issue at the Journal of Business Ethics (JBE). This VSI is intended to serve as a resource for quantitative researchers who are interested in moving beyond typical notions of ethics in relation to research methods. The lead article by Zyphur and Pierides offers an analysis of quantitative research that shows it to be deeply ethics-laden through the ways that it engages in activities of representation and examinations correspondence. The remaining articles, all of which are cited within the lead article, have been previously published at JBE (and therefore editorial decisions regarding their publication were made prior to and independent of their selection for this virtual special issue). The first set of these articles offer useful discussions of ethics for quantitative researchers generally and especially those that seek to understand how research ethics may be understood when submitting manuscripts to JBE. The remaining articles offer examples how quantitative research can be used for purposes that may be considered--on various grounds--to be ethically informed on terms that are described in the first paper by Zyphur and Pierides.
