Business & Society is a leading, peer-reviewed journal for scholarly work
dealing specifically with the intersection of business and society. We
publish research that develops, tests and refines theory, and which
enhances our understanding of important societal issues and their relation
    to business.

One of our major challenges is ensuring that research published in Business
& Society is noticed and has an impact – primarily in the field of
scholarship, but also in practice, policy, and teaching. To this end, we
are seeking a passionate scholar and communicator to join the editorial
team as a Social Media Editor.

The Social Media Editor will work with the journal co-editors to produce
and disseminate highly accessible social media content about research
published in Business & Society, and to facilitate online conversations
about this (and related) research. Although the precise nature of the role
is to be agreed between the successful applicant and the journal
co-editors, it will likely include: the production of blog posts,
interviews, podcasts, infographics, and videos; managing the journal’s
existing Twitter feed; and exploring other social media opportunities and
    platforms where relevant.

The role will include a minimum commitment to produce at least one major
piece of content per month and to manage a limited number of social media
interactions on a daily basis. In return, the postholder will receive an
annual honorarium of US$1200, an editorial position in one of the leading
journals in the field, as well as a unique opportunity to make an impact on
research and practice in the field of business and society.

    Applicants should have:
    • Proven research expertise in the field of business and society, ideally
with (or currently studying for) a PhD
    • Experience in successfully creating or editing content for social media
in a professional context and/or writing for non-academic audiences

The position is available initially for a one-year period, beginning Fall
    2015, extendable by mutual agreement.

Applicants should send a CV, a sample of their work, and a brief (500 word)
statement outlining how they would go about achieving the journal’s goals
of ensuring that research published in Business & Society is noticed and
has an impact by July 31st, 2015 to BASeditors@schulich.yorku.ca.

Informal inquiries can be made to any of the journal co-editors: Andrew
    Crane (acrane@schulich.yorku.ca), Irene Henriques
    (ihenriques@schulich.yorku.ca), Bryan Husted (bryanhusted@gmail.com), or
    Dirk Matten (dmatten@schulich.yorku.ca).

We look forward to hearing from you!

    Andy, Irene, Bryan and Dirk
