In recent years the blending of theories and methods from neuroscience with management and organizations has seen a surge of interest. Neural imaging techniques have given us a much more reliable picture of how our brain works and we are starting to understand the biological underpinnings of human behavior and cognition. In regards to business ethics neuroscience research can inform our theoretical thinking on ethical or moral decision making, on issues of fairness, trust or altruism, on self-awareness and intuition, but also on how we perceive and interact with others. Other research areas relate to the ethical implications of applying neuroscience in different disciplines and areas such as marketing, leadership and organizational behaviour. This PDW seeks to explore both the ethical implications of using neuroscience methodology and how neuroscience may lead to a better understanding of ethical issues in organizations.

The PDW is organized around four key themes which have gained significant traction in recent years: organizational neuroscience, neuromarketing, neural correlates of ethical leadership, and the role of empathy and emotions in ethical decision-making. Experts from each domain will provide input and subsequently chair round table discussions to explore latest research developments and perspectives.
