Please join us for this PDW on "Opening the synergies between sustainability oriented innovation and governance: systems building.Impacting sustainability practice through research".
This PDW aims to understand the link between sustainability-oriented innovation (SOI), system-building and governance. We will introduce the SOI model proposed by the Network for Business Sustainability based on three longitudinal process, including operational optimization, organizational transformation and system-building. SOI requires new innovation capabilities and ways of thinking: a system-thinking approach.

Carlos Osorio (UAI Business School), a framework and new methods for sustainability-driven innovation, including cognitive psychology, management, engineering and design; Pablo Muñoz (UAI Business School), NBS Global and its strategy to bridge the gap between research and practice where SOI is a central element; Thomas Webler (Western Washington University), the concept of civic dialogues and their application to SOI; Paavo Ritala (Lappeenranta University of Technology), the role of "coopetition" focusing on SOI; Ralp Hamann (Cape Town University), the role of business in creating such innovation, focusing his analysis on the African context; Nancy Bocken (TU Delft), the sustainable business model archetypes to enable systems-thinking and to create sustainable value; Francisco Gonzalez-Bree (Deusto Business School), collaborative innovation for sustainability; Raymond Paquin (John Molson School of Business), industrial symbiosis, SOI and governance; Stephanie Bertels (Beedie School of Business) will discuss how companies can shift their cultures to make room for SOI; and Dorothea Ernst will introduce the systems thinking SOI based on Philips case.
