    Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) is recruiting for a professor position in international business and three full-time assistant professor positions: one in organizational behavior/human resource management, one in international business or strategy and one in information systems. We are also looking to fill several visiting positions for the Spring 2016 term. NUBS China is an integral part of the Nottingham University Business School awarding the same internationally recognized degrees offered by Nottingham in the UK. In operation for a little over 10 years, NUBS China currently has approximately 2,800 students of which about 400 are enrolled in postgraduate programs including a Ph.D. program.It has a rapidly expanding international faculty of about 90, all based in Ningbo China and coming from 27 countries or so.  The school is EQUIS accredited and is part of a university that is highly rated and is seeking to improve further its ranking among the world's top research and teaching universities.  Since April 2011, NUBS China has rapidly progressed towards an increasing focus on high impact research, customized executive education, and high quality teaching.  NUBS China focuses its efforts around the three "I"s-International, Innovative, and Interactive.  In addition, NUBS China, which carries out instruction in English, is significantly increasing its research focus and provides an excellent environment and conditions for scholars interested in pursuing an active research agenda.

     

    Ningbo is located only 2-3 hours from Shanghai by car or train (with the fastest train currently taking 1 hour and 40 minutes). It is a relatively high-income city for China, with a per capita income (PPP basis) of about US $12,000. Ningbo has one of China's largest deep-water ports, a modern airport with excellent connections to cities such as Beijing, Singapore, Hong Kong, Seoul and Taipei and high-speed rail connections to other major cities in China. It has international schools, excellent shopping facilities and an attractive multicultural nightlife. It also has many rivers, lakes and mountains in the outskirts and is considered to be one of the cities in China which has the best quality of life.

     

    NUBS China offers European-level competitive salaries with reasonable teaching loads.  In addition, an attractive international benefits package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance, support for international schooling (there are four international schools in Ningbo), and insurance (including international medical insurance) will be provided for international appointments.  NUBS China also provides a competitive research support package for candidates showing good research output.  Candidates are expected to have a PhD in a relevant area by the time they start to work.  Excellent English communication skills are essential.  Overall, candidates are expected to have demonstrated an ability to conduct high-quality research together with strong teaching abilities.

     

    The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham Ningbo China for a period of up to 5 years starting 15 February 2016 or 1 September 2016. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement, subject to revised terms and conditions.
