Using Tensions and Contradictions to Advance Process Research

Presenter Panel (Part 1): Often, tensions, contradictions or paradoxes are seen by organizational scholars as triggers of processes that eventually settle or resolve the tension. But what happens when contradictions are actually the drivers at the heart of processes, and are never settled but continually "in play"? The following scholars will offer insight into how they have conceptualized and published process research by engaging and maintaining attention to tensions and contradictions:

Moshe Farjoun (York University)

Elaine Hollensbe (University of Cincinnati) and Glen Kreiner (Penn State University)

Wendy Smith (University of Delaware)

Marya Besharov (Cornell University)

Workshop (Part 2): Registered participants will have the opportunity to present and receive feedback on their own process studies in small group discussions with past and present Process Research PDW faculty and other participants.

 Part 2 group discussion leaders include: Marya Besharov, Moshe Farjoun, Russell Funk, Spencer Harrison, Elaine Hollensbe, Jennifer Howard-Grenville, Paula Jarzabkowski, Glen Kreiner, Curtis LeBaron, Melissa Mazmanian, Mathew Sheep, Harry Sminia, and Wendy Smith.

Pre-registration is required for the Workshop (Part 2) of the PDW only. Potential participants should email Jennifer Howard-Grenville, at jhg@uoregon.edu for the registration code and instructions on how to submit a 2000-word or less description of their process research project/paper.

Part 2 pre-registration closes on July 5, 2015.
