Call for Book/Film Reviews:
Research in Ethical Issues in Organizations
Research in Ethical Issues in Organizations, edited by Michael Schwartz (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) and Howard Harris (University of South Australia), explores the central and unique role of organizational ethics in creating and sustaining a pluralistic, free-enterprise economy. REIO examines how profit seeking and not for profit organizations can be conceived and designed to satisfy legitimate human needs in an ethical and meaningful way.
REIO publishes rigorous research studies (essayistic or empirical) that probe important issues in organizational ethics and make original and substantial contributions to the existing business ethics literature.
The readers of Research in Ethical Issues in Organizations would also benefit from careful reviews of materials that would enhance their endeavours as scholars, practitioners, and educators.
For two excellent examples of book reviews REIO has published, please see Brenden E. Kendall's review of Harris, H., Wijesinghe, G., & McKenzie, S. (Eds.). (2013). The Heart of the Good Institution: Virtue Ethics as a Framework for Responsible Management. Dordrecht, The Netherlands: Springer and Stephan Millett's review of Bowden, P. (Ed.). (2012). Applied Ethics: Strengthening Ethical Practices. Prahran, Australia: Tilde University Press (both in Volume 12, pages 155-161 and 163-166, respectively).
In addition to book reviews, we invite reviews of recent films that depict ethical issues in firms and/or not-for-profit organizations.
Please submit your preliminary idea for a book or film review to Debra Comer at debra.r.comer@hofstra.edu.
