WELLNESS IN THE WORKPLACE 2015

The ICCSR and Nottingham University Business School is proud to host "Wellness in the Workplace" in partnership with Business in the Community (BitC). This event, part of Responsible Business Week, is an opportunity for businesses, non-profits and academics to come together to promote progress on wellness strategies in business, to raise challenges, and to share new ideas with other organisations.
Wellness in the workplace 2015 will feature two keynote speeches and panel discussions on significant conditions that affect employees, namely mental health and cancer. Each keynote speaker will be joined by a panel from business, healthcare, and non-profit organisations to bring a multiple stakeholder perspective on how best to support wellness at work.
Our morning session features a key note talk from Professor Stephen Bevan, who will discuss 'Is your boss dangerous to your health?' Stephen, will discuss taboos, injustices, and human case for mental health interventions and in particular the role of line manager.
Our afternoon session will feature a key note talk 'Wellness at work after cancer' from Jenny Ritchie-Campbell, Director Service Strategy and Innovation at Macmillan Cancer Support. Jenny will discuss the challenges faced when managing employees affected by cancer and how to better support employees, their families, managers and other colleagues.

After the main keynotes, plenary sessions will be available that will showcase practical means for organisations to better support their employees with these and other conditions.
Wellness in the workplace 2015 aims to offer business leaders, healthcare organisations, and non-profits the opportunity to focus on creating a positive, healthy, and supportive workplace. Participants will benefit from an ability to network with colleagues who share an interest in the role of responsible managers in achieving wellness in the workplace.
