The Network for Business Sustainability (NBS, nbs.net/) is calling for proposals for multiple research studies to be completed in 2015. These projects are intended to inform business sustainability practice and policy by providing decision-makers with rigorous, research-based solutions. Researchers will work closely with an advisory council of senior sustainability managers to sharpen the study scope and generate outcomes that can be implemented by practitioners.
Research projects are sponsored by NBS: Canada and NBS: South Africa. Proposals are due January 7, 2015, and research teams from around the world are welcome to apply. Funding for different projects is described below.
The research questions are:
NBS: Canada
· Project 1: How can businesses increase the effectiveness of their sustainability reporting practices? CfP at http://nbs.net/call-for-proposals-sustainability-reporting/
· Project 2: How can businesses collaborate with competitors to identify and implement sustainability solutions? CfP at http://nbs.net/call-for-proposals-collaborating-with-competitors-for-sustainability/
NBS: South Africa
· Project 1: How are innovative business models creating shared value? CfP at http://nbs.net/synthesis-of-research-and-practice-on-sustainable-business-models/
· Project 2: Why do some CEOs make the shift toward incorporating sustainability into strategy (and what holds others back)? CfP athttp://nbs.net/call-for-proposals-ceo-decision-making/.
Funding for each NBS Canada project is CAD$15,000 (based on the research team's budget. Amounts exceeding CAD$15,000 will be considered with appropriate justification in the budget).
Funding for each NBS South Africa project is 280,000 ZAR or ~ $25,000.
