The Department of Strategy, Globalization and Society
The Department of Strategy, Globalization and Society of the Faculty for Business and Economics at the University of Lausanne provides a stimulating, inter-disciplinary research environment. We value the diversity of the expertise of the members of the department as well as the diversity of the departments at the Faculty of Business and Economics. We have a collegial atmosphere that makes it easy for us to carry out our research. We conduct research on the sources of firms' long term competitive advantage and sustainable performance. A founding belief of our department is that firms' strategies in a globalized world often have to take into account not only market dimensions (competition, price, differentiation, innovation, M&As, etc.) but also nonmarket dimensions (environmental aspects, regulation, macroeconomic policies, politics, media, ethical considerations, etc.). Members of the Department have published in leading international outlets such as the Academy of Management Journal, the Academy of Management Review, the Administrative Science Quarterly, the Strategic Management Journal, or the Journal of Management Studies.
Located at Lake Geneva and surrounded by the Jura Mountains and the French Alps, Lausanne is a beautiful and cosmopolitan spot to live and work.
