Penn State Great Valley invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in management for its innovative AACSB-accredited M.B.A. and Master of Leadership Development programs.
Part of the Pennsylvania State University, the Penn State Great Valley School of Graduate Professional Studies (http://www.sgps.psu.edu) is located 25 miles northwest of downtown Philadelphia. The nation's first research university facility permanently housed in a corporate park, PSGV emphasizes the links between academic theory, research and professional practice. The surrounding greater Philadelphia region offers an exceptionally rich cultural life and the natural beauty of Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Excellence in both teaching and research is expected and supported. Candidates must hold an earned doctorate in management or a related area from an accredited institution. The successful candidate will have documented research and teaching interests in one or more of the following areas: organizational behavior, leadership, diversity leadership, human resource management, strategic management, and international management. Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in a technology-facilitated environment is a requirement, in addition to effective classroom teaching ability. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a six-course load to graduate business students; be expected to conduct research that leads to publications in respected refereed journals; and participate in school and university service activities commensurate with experience and rank.
The position will be available for the Fall 2017 semester. Starting August 2016, applications will be reviewed until the position has been filled. Qualified applicants should upload a letter of application, curriculum vitae, evidence of teaching effectiveness, two samples of published research, and the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of three professional references. Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
Preliminary interviews/information sessions will be held at the Academy of Management (AOM) Meeting in August 2016 for those applicants in attendance. Attendance at the AOM Meeting is not required of candidates and candidates attending the meeting will not receive preferential consideration. Candidates wishing to meet at the AOM meeting should apply by July 31, 2016 and will be notified if they will be interviewed by August 3.
