Enter the case study competition to win €3,000 - We are looking for Success Stories of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) in Nanotechnology and Healthcare!

The Institute for Managing Sustainability, as the coordinator of a new EU funded research project COMPASS, invites the submission of case studies on responsible research and innovation in industry.

    Competition Deadlines

Submit your responsible innovation success story in nanotechnology or healthcare!

    • Text or video abstracts:    31st October 2016
    • 1st round selection:          30th November 2016
    • Selection of winners:       31st January 2017

Five winners will receive €3,000 each!

COMPASS is an EU-funded project that supports small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in three emerging technology industries to manage research, development and innovation activities in a responsible and inclusive manner. The main output of the project is an interactive online platform, the Responsible Innovation Compass, which will provide guidance and orientation on RRI implementation, tailored to the needs of innovative enterprises, in particular SMEs.

Five winning case studies resulting from this competition will be integrated into the Responsible Innovation Compass and will serve as an inspiration for peer businesses and receive a prize of €3,000 each.

    Who should apply?

The competition is open for two key innovation fields: healthcare and nanotechnology (including ICT innovations within these two fields). No restrictions on geographic location, or type and size of company. Submissions can be from any organisation or background (e.g. from industry, academia, policy making, civil society organisation). Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) are particularly invited to apply. Each case study should tell a story about responsible business conduct in the areas of nanotechnology and/or healthcare innovation (including ICT in nanotechnology or healthcare). Case studies can describe a new product, a new service, a new social innovation, a new design, or a new business model - anything that would fall under the umbrella of 'innovation'.
