    Call for Papers

The 9th Philosophy of Management International Conference 2014
Theme: Philosophy of Management, Ethics and Economics

    Depaul University, Chicago, Illinois, USA
    14-16 July 2014
    Organized by Philosophy of Management
Patricia H. Werhane, Depaul University, pwerhane@depaul.edu
    R. Edward Freeman, University of Virginia, freemane@darden.virginia.edu

Philosophy of Management 2014 is the ninth in a series of conferences open
to all. It will be of special interest to philosophers, management
researchers and teachers, consultants and practicing managers. This will be
the first conference held in the US and we will follow a very successful and
established model used at earlier conferences at St Anne's College, Oxford.
We are designing an event to offer opportunities for unhurried presentation
of papers and discussion, high-quality supportive interaction and feedback,
ample opportunity for networking and a gathering in which all participants
can pursue informal, rich conversations and the continuing exploration of
shared concerns. Participants will be limited to 75 plus plenary speakers.

The overall theme of the conference is to explore the connections among
philosophy and management with special attention paid to business ethics
and economics, since these two disciplines often form the underpinning for
    management.

Contributions are invited to any of the Conference tracks – or on any aspect
of philosophy of management and from within any cultural or philosophical
tradition. We will especially welcome papers, panels and workshops on the
relationship between philosophy and management practice. Conference Tracks
    are:

    1. Philosophy of Management, Ethics and Economics
    2. Management Theory and Philosophy
    3. Philosophical Issues in Sustainability
    4. Philosophy and the Practice of Management
    5. Teaching Philosophical Concepts in the Business Disciplines
    6. Philosophical Issues in Leadership
    7. Philosophy of Managing Information
    8. Divers

Abstracts only are due on January 13, 2014. Contributors will be notified
of acceptance a month later, and full papers are due on May 5. Papers will
be blind-reviewed, appear on the Conference Papers website and revised
versions will be considered for publication in a forthcoming issue of
    Philosophy of Management.

Abstracts and correspondence should be emailed to
    POMConf2014@darden.virginia.edu
