Hello all;
As you are making your way to Boston by plane, train, automobile, subway, bus or walking do have safe travels. We have a great program for you created by you and the wonderful reviewers that we had this year in SIM. In addition to the PDW activities (chair: Mike Barnett) and the scholarly program with traditional paper presentations, rountable discussions and symposia, here's a couple of sessions to greet old friends and meet some new ones, too.
Sunday highlights:
Sunday afternoon, in the Marriott Copley Place (MCP) Hotel, is set aside for a very few, very special SIM sessions. We start by recognizing three emergent scholars as Finalists in the SIM Best Dissertation (5-6pm, Salon K, MCP). We then honor Professor Thomas Jones' significant impacts across three decades of thought leadership via numerous AMR and AMJ publications as well as being the first editor of Business & Society, and chair of numerous doctoral dissertations at the University of Washington. Please join Ed Freeman, Craig Smith, Paul Godfrey, Lori Verstegan Ryan, Andy Wicks, and Shawn Berman as they toast Tom (6-7.30pm, Salon E, MCP). A reception follows for new and old members alike (7.30-8.30pm, Salon E, MCP).
Monday: The Division Chair (Shawn Berman) address and New Member Welcome is Monday morning bright and early (7-8am, Provincetown, MCP). The Business Meeting on Monday evening from 4.45-6.15pm when all of the finalists and award winners will be announce (currently, Boyltson, MCP--stay tuned this may move to Salon E, MCP) and of course the annual SIM Social (6.30pm, Salon E, MCP).
Tuesday: Coffee will be available at 7.30am in Boylston, MCP as you start your day with more paper presentations, division roundtables and symposia!
Many many thanks to the extensive network of SIM scholars and our sponsors without whom we could not have created this years' program!
