"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change
the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." ~ Margaret Mead

    Dear SIM Listers,

There are many of us working to change the world from our individual corners
-- through our consulting practices, coaching, teaching, and simply our
"being". One thing we have in common is our 'strengths-based' perspective...
be it appreciative inquiry, asset-based community development, appreciative
coaching, strength-based team development, dialogue work, etc.

A variety of exciting things are happening in the region at the moment in
the area of strength-based work-- from the recent $10 Million gift to
Champlain College to help infuse the school with resources to do more
Appreciative Inquiry work, to strength-based leadership training happening
at Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, to workshops at conferences like the VT
Non-Profit Conference, and new AI courses being offered at institutions like
Marlboro College and others --- there is a growing interest and opportunity
for more strength-based work and collaborations in our region.

To help us reach out and connect (or perhaps re-connect) across our various
"corners" and better support each other in our individual work -- as well as
creating new collaborative opportunities across our "corners" -- we are
working to energize a "North East Appreciative Inquiry Network" (this is a
working name only and open for discussion! It is inspired by what was
originally the New England AI Community - NEAIC) and would like you to be a
    part of it!

The inspirational idea for this network is simple:

To create an informal, supportive, collaborative strength-based learning
community where we can share ideas, hopes, and resources with each other to
support each of us in our own work, even as we create new opportunities for
ourselves and the communities where we work.

While we envision that this network would include the northeast area of
North America (Canada, New England, New York, etc.)... the network is open
to anyone who would like to be a part of it -- so please feel free to share
this information and survey with others!

As we work to launch the network, please take a moment to respond to the
following survey ASAP so we can get a sense of your interest and how we can
    begin to connect further!

We look forward to hearing from you!

    With Appreciation,

    Lindsey Godwin, Champlain College
    Cecile Betit, Evolutionary Development
    Marge Schiller, Positive Change Core
    Matt Moehle, Positive Change Core

    Apologies for cross posting
