Position Opening for Assistant Professor in Business and Society
In anticipation of final budgetary and OEO approval, members of the Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico will be holding an informal open house on Tuesday, August 16th from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the annual meeting of the Academy of Management in San Antonio (Marriott Rivercenter, Salon A) in support of their search for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of Business and Society. The appointment would begin no later than August 13, 2012. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and will be a member of the Anderson School's Department of Organizational Studies.
The Anderson School is AACSB accredited. Its management programs enroll approximately 1000 undergraduate students and 500 graduate students. The Anderson School emphasizes collaborative student interaction, active adult learning, team experiences, and scholarship that draws upon a variety of methodologies and subject areas. The following minimum qualifications and preferences are subject to change based on OEO review:
Minimum qualifications: Applicants must (a) hold or be near completion of a Ph.D. in business and society, business ethics, or a closely related field; (b) provide evidence of or promise of a significant program of research and scholarship; and (c) have teaching experience related to business and society and/or closely related fields.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
· Publications in scholarly journals on topics related to business and society and/or business ethics.
· Evidence of excellence in teaching core and elective courses in business and society, business ethics, or a closely related field at the graduate and/or undergraduate levels.
· Experience in working successfully with multicultural constituencies.
The open house will be held on Tuesday, August 16 at the Marriott Rivercenter, Salon A, starting at 7:30 am and ending at 9:30 am. A light continental breakfast will be available. Formal interviews will not be conducted, but members of the Anderson School faculty will be present to answer questions about the position and the University of New Mexico. Anyone who is potentially interested in applying for the position is welcome to attend. A formal notice of the position and application instructions will be forthcoming; it is anticipated that the date for best consideration will be approximately October 15, 2011.
