Caucus Abstract: The aim of this caucus is to bring together those who are interested in the work lives of recent immigrants to our shores.  The Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor beckons to the 'tired, poor and huddled masses', however, the fair lady's welcome notwithstanding, workplace conditions are not necessarily so welcoming for the newest arrivals.

Caucus Organizer: Dr. Hazel-Anne M. Johnson, Rutgers University

    Sample Caucus Discussion Questions

    ·       What are the consequences of immigrant status on work outcomes?

    ·       How does immigrant status interact with other aspects of identity, such as race or ethnicity, to influence work outcomes?

    ·       What are the experiences of immigrants from Latin America and the Caribbean in the U.S. workforce?  How are their experiences qualitatively and quantitatively different from immigrants from other regions of the globe?
