Hello!
Is anyone familiar with emotional labor? As I understand, emotional labor is the emotion displayed in job behavior, like smile in service-providing process. Emotion acts as the accessory to working behavior to enhance customer's satisfaction. I wonder if there is justice issue over emotional labor. Job-oriented emotion is not necessarily the same as the true inner emotion of the employee. Who owns the right to the emotional labor, the boss or the employee? Unfair labor is exploitation of labor, is not the job-required emotional labor without employee's consent a further exploitation of labor?
I hope to hear comments on the issue or any useful references.
Thank you
Sheng
