Dear Colleagues,
This year, the Erasmus Research Institute of Management (ERIM) will host the prestigious 12th PREBEM Conference for PhD researchers as well as Research Master's students. This one-day conference will be held on September the 8th 2011 and will provide the opportunity for PhD researchers and Research Master's students to meet their fellow researchers from all over Europe, to present their research, discuss the work of their peers and participate in important scientific debates .
The conference theme is "Market and Non-Market Forces - Threats and Opportunities". We invite you to submit research proposals or short papers on this theme. However, submissions that are not related to the theme are also welcomed and will be accommodated adequately in the conference. The best proposal/short paper will be awarded with a generous monetary award.
Join PREBEM 2011, and become a part of the PhD conference aimed at bridging the international PhD community in the field of Business Economics and Management.
Keynote Speakers
Professor Edward Zajac, a renowned academic at the Kellogg School of Management in the area of Management and Organizations. He holds a Ph.D. in Organization and Strategy from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Professor Zajac is a Fellow of both the Academy of Management and the Strategic Management Society. He serves as Co-Editor of the Strategic Management Journal and as an Editorial Board Member of many other leading journals. His research, teaching, and consulting focuses on strategic management issues
Professor Jan Peter Balkenende, the Prime Minister of the Netherlands between 2002 and 2010. He received his PhD, in 1992 in Governmental Regulation and Social Organizations. From 1993 to 2002, he was Distinguished Professor in Christian-Social Perspectives on Economics and Society at the VU University in Amsterdam. Currently he is a Professor of Governance, Institutions and Internationalization at the Erasmus School of Law and the Erasmus School of Economics and a Partner at Ernst & Young. He has been awarded honorary doctorates from universities in Budapest, Tokyo and Seoul.
