<st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Pitzer</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">College</st1:placetype></st1:place>, a member of the Claremont Colleges, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Sociology to begin in the academic year 2007-2008, from candidates whose teaching and research is in political sociology with a focus on one or more of the following areas:  globalization, sexualities, families, organizations, or critical legal studies.

Candidates should have a commitment to undergraduate teaching at a liberal arts college and are expected to engage in research and publication.  Preference will be given to those candidates who have completed the Ph.D. and who have teaching experience.  <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Pitzer</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">College</st1:placetype></st1:place>, a member of the Claremont Colleges, has a strong institutional commitment to the principles of diversity in all areas and strongly encourages candidates from underrepresented social groups.
