MOVING INTO THE TRADITIONAL PROGRAM
Just one week from now, many of you will be in Vancouver for the 2015 Academy Meetings. Monday is the first day of the traditional program (traditional papers, panel symposia, and paper symposia), which then continues on Tuesday. You can find each of the sessions listed in your online Program: Just go to the following URL:
Click on the BROWSE Sessions tab, and FILTER on SIM as the sponsor. Just to provide an overview, here's a look ahead at what's going on Monday, August 10.
Monday:
START OF THE TRADITIONAL PROGRAM ... AND MORE!
We kick off the traditional portion of the program at 7:30 AM with the Monday Morning Jumpstart, cosponsored by SIM and IABS (the International Association for Business and Society) and welcoming the new editors of Business and Society. Come to the Port of New York room at the Pinnacle Vancouver Harbourfront Hotel (the primary SIM Hotel) and chat with the editors, bring your questions, and find out more about how you can get your work published.
On this day, SIM has scheduled six showcase symposia, each co-sponsored with other divisions.
Lots of great traditional paper sessions are included in the Program throughout the day on Monday. Be sure to check out the online Program to see which ones you want to be sure to attend!
Join all of your SIM colleagues for the annual SIM Plenary from 11:30 AM-1:00 PM in the Cordova Ballroom at the Pinnacle Vancouver Harbourfront Hotel (the primary SIM Hotel). SIM Division Chair Mike Barnett will present his Division Chair Address, entitled "Mind: The Gap." Then, the 2014 Sumner Marcus Award honoree Barry Mitnick will present "Practical Plagiarism: Seeping, Strolling, Shopping, Stealing, and Supinity in the Academy." After some remarks by Division Chair-Elect Harry Van Buren, all audience members will be encouraged to participate in the discussion.
Many other amazing symposia and paper sessions occur throughout the day. While lots of folks will undoubtedly want to attend paper sessions scheduled 4:45-6:15 PM, we hope that many of you will join us for the SIM Division Business Meeting at this time in Ballroom II & III at the Pinnacle Vancouver Harbourfront Hotel (the primary SIM Hotel). And of course everyone is invited to our annual SIM Social Gathering immediately afterward.
