The ONE/SIM Jr Faculty Consortium provides an opportunity for early career faculty members undertaking research in the areas of Organizations and the Natural Environment or Social Issues in Management to engage with more senior scholars in the field. It will take place Saturday, August 13, 2011 from 12:30 PM - 4:00 PM in the Marriott Rivercenter, Salon J.

The goals of the session are two-fold: to provide junior faculty with an opportunity to meet other scholars in the field and to discuss issues salient to their current position. We will address issues such as navigating the review process; determining 'fit' between a paper and a journal; building a coherent research and teaching program in time for key evaluation milestones (like contract renewals or tenure decisions); the costs and benefits of hosting workshops, symposiums, conferences and special issues in terms of building a research program; and getting ONE and SIM work placed in mainstream journals. Please note that this is not a paper workshop. Attendance is by application. We will give priority to those in the first 5 years of their employment as a faculty member or in a postdoctoral position. The session is being coordinated by Stephanie Bertels and Mark Sharfman. Applicants are requested to email a current CV to stephanie_bertels[at]sfu.ca. Acceptances will take place on a rolling basis with a final deadline of July 15th, 2011.
