    Dearest friends,

I shared this with SBE last night and have been asked to forward it to the Academy.  However, I only know how to share it with the SIM list.  If any of you are on other AoM lists for groups that would be relevant, could you please share, but also cc tomascol@wharton.upenn.edu so the family is aware of the distribution?

I share below a most message: the passing of a colleague.  I received last night via ALSB-news a notification from the Dean at the Wharton School of the passing of our colleague, past-president of SBE & ALSB, my friend and someone I have been honored to consider my mentor, Professor Tom Dunfee.  I am sharing it with you all immediately, because I know so many of you will want to know the information as it appears below.  It is all I know.

    With warmest regards,
    Laura Hartman  (see below)

    Dear Colleagues,
It is with deepest regret that I inform you of the death of our colleague, Thomas W. Dunfee.  Tom has been a member of the Legal Studies and Business Ethics Department and the Wharton community for 34 years.

Tom provided significant service and insight to all of us over the years. Among his many contributions to the School, he was the Director of the Zicklin Center for Business Ethics Research, Vice Dean of the Wharton Undergraduate Division, and most recently, Chairperson of the Legal Studies and Business Ethics Department.

Tom's scholarly accomplishments are many. These include over fifty refereed academic articles, more than a dozen books where he served as author or editor, service as a member on the editorial review boards for six academic journals, and former president for both the Academy of Legal Studies in Business and the Society for Business Ethics.

More importantly, Tom was a wonderful colleague whose warm personality and gentle smile were known to all of us.   He is survived by his wife, Dottie, their three children, and four grandchildren.

We are all saddened by Tom's passing. He will be greatly missed.
