  • 1.  Climate politics: Environmentalists need to think globally, but act locally

    Hello everybody:

    President Trump is likely to issue an executive order today to rollback climate action policies. Some highlights:

    - EPA will revisit the Clean Power Plan;
    - DOJ will not defend the legal challenge to this plan;
    - lift moratorium on coal leasing on public lands;
    - rewrite limits on methane emissions from the oil and gas industry;
    - Federal agencies not to take into account the social cost of carbon
    - and many more......

    How might environmental groups respond? Here are some ideas we published in The Conversation:

    Dear Aseem,

    I believe this have been a long-standing misconception (and a title of a book on social activism) but the correct approach can only be “think locally and ACT GLOBALLY”!

    Regards,

    George
