    Please excuse the cross-postings:
Two pieces from popular culture that might be of interest to list members are at the following links:

    1. From the Mother Jones blog, a short piece on Crystal Lee Sutton, who provided the basis for Sally Field's character http://www.motherjones.com/mojo/2009/09/real-life-norma-rae-dies-after-battle-insurance-company

    2. Stephen Colbert did a satiric, but very educational, take on the 14th Amendment and corporations Supreme Court decision, because of the current court case on corporations and election law. There were 2 segments on his Sept. 15th show "Let Freedom Ka-Ching" and "Citizens United vs. Federal Election Commission--Jeffrey Toobin"
If you have never watched the comedy channel's Colbert Report (I watch online) you can view it at http://www.colbertnation.com

    Cheers,
    Mary
