If anyone is still searching for a Post-Doctoral position, there is an opening on a NOAA funded project with Florida A & M and seven other institutions, including FAMU, TAMUCC, UTBrownsville, Jackson State, Creighton, and Delaware State.  The Human Dimensions Focus Area, which combines Socioeconomic and Policy elements and tries to integrate them with the environmental sciences has a position that is for one year, but will likely be renewed for at least a second year and possibly longer. The position will be housed at the FAMU College of Law. They also will be able to hook up the successful candidate with NOAA mentors to advise them on their research. One of the goals of the program is to serve as a pipeline into NOAA and there have been several people who have worked for NOAA after coming out of this program. We are hoping to find someone really top flight.

The preference is for someone that has environmental economics expertise and wants to apply those skills to matters of valuing ecosystem services, or buttressing environmental (in)justice claims by being able to evaluate community impacts. That said, for a top flight candidate, there is no straightjacket on their prior training nor on their research and writing other than it be "NOAA-relevant" which covers a great deal of ground. US citizenship is a requirement.

Attached is the position announcement.  Contact Robert Abrams, robert.abrams@famu.edu for more information.

    Best,

    Andy
