    Post-doctoral Position in Business & Sustainability

    University of Victoria, Gustavson School of Business

     

    The Centre for Social and Sustainable Innovation (CSSI) at the Gustavson School of Business, University of Victoria, Canada, invites applications for the position of Post-doctoral Fellow in Business & Sustainability.

    The successful candidate will contribute to the CSSI's research focus on business and sustainability, including areas such as: systems approaches in sustainability; business, ecosystems and biodiversity; sustainable supply chain management; sustainable business models; sustainable finance; socially responsible investment; impact investing; organizational change and innovation; corporate social responsibility; social innovation; poverty reduction at the BoP; organizational vulnerability and resilience to climate change; Indigenous entrepreneurship; business and human rights; management education and sustainability; and cross sector partnerships.

    The candidate will perform theoretical and empirical management research related to the above-mentioned areas, in collaboration with one or more professors at the Gustavson School of Business, possibly (but not necessarily) including Drs. Monika Winn, Matt Murphy and Basma Majerbi.

    Relevant disciplines are organization theory, business strategy, business and society, organizational behaviour, organization and the natural environment (ONE), sustainable finance and international business; others can be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with strong qualitative and/or quantitative analytical skills.

    Applicants should hold a PhD in Business or a related discipline or will have received their PhD by the starting date of the Post-doctoral Fellowship. They show strong demonstrated potential to and interest in conducting research. Full proficiency in English is required. Applications from international candidates are highly encouraged.

    As part of the duties of the post-doctoral fellow, the successful candidate is expected to publish research results in peer-reviewed international journals, contribute to the existing research group, participate in research meetings and assist with project-related tasks at the Centre for Social and Sustainable Innovation (CSSI).

    The starting date of the Post-doctoral Fellowship is July 1, 2017. The appointment is full-time, fixed-term for 12 months, renewable to a total of 24 months.

    The Gustavson School of Business is a growing, dynamic business school with about 1,100 students, faculty and staff, located on the west coast of Canada.
