Dear SIM Colleagues:
I am very pleased to announce that as of December
2009, Business&Society (BAS) will be indexed in
the Social Sciences Citation Index ®. The impact
factor is pending and will appear in a subsequent
year. This news is now posted at the BAS
website. SSCI recognition is an important step
for the journal. BAS, founded in 1960, is owned
and published by Sage Publications and sponsored
by the International Association for Business and Society (IABS).
I want to take this opportunity to thank all the
associate editors, editorial board members, and
reviewers who have been working with me since I
assumed the editorship of BAS in 2007. This
recognition of the quality of our journal would
not have been possible without their collective
contributions and efforts. I want further to
thank the employees of Sage Publications working
with BAS and the IABS board for their support of
the journal Finally, I wish to acknowledge that
my predecessors as editor have all contributed
materially step by step to the advancement of the journal and this recognition.
In 2010, we shall publish volume 49 in four
quarterly issues. The size of the journal is now
nearly 700 printed pages annually. A reminder
that 2011 is the 50th anniversary volume, and
ideas for how to celebrate are very welcome. The
editorial board has been greatly enlarged in the
last couple of years. We have opened this year
an online manuscript submission system to which
all new submissions should normally go:
