  • 1.  SIM election results

    Dear SIM colleagues,

    On behalf of the SIM nominations committee (Shawn Berman, Tom
    Donaldson, Lance Moir, Kathy Rehbein, and myself), I want to thank
    everyone who participated in the 2007 election process (which closed
    on May 18). This year, voting turnout was 42.2% of 1301 eligible
    members (up about 5 percentage points from last year based on 1191
    eligible members). Both membership and voting turnout are up.

    On behalf of the entire SIM membership, I express appreciation to all
    the candidates who stepped forward to serve SIM by running for
    office. The competitive positions (program chair elect and two
    representatives-at-large) were all closely contested. Every
    candidate received a substantial body of support. Unfortunately we
    can only elect one individual to each position.

    Congratulations go to the following individuals who have been elected:

    SIM DIVISION CHAIR
    Tom Donaldson, Wharton School

    SIM DIVISION CHAIR ELECT
    Linda Trevino, Penn State Univ

    SIM PROGRAM CHAIR
    Ann Buchholtz, Univ of Georgia

    SIM PROGRAM CHAIR ELECT (PDW CHAIR)
    Barry Mitnick, Univ of Pittsburgh

    REPRESENTATIVES-AT-LARGE (2 positions for 3-year terms)
    Andy Crane, York Univ
    Lori Ryan, San Diego State Univ

    Again, thanks to everyone who participated and especially to the
    candidates who have served SIM in a vital role by running for
    office. I hope to see many of you in Philadelphia (August 3-8).
