Hi Everyone (and please excuse cross postings):

As we all begin to get ready for the <st1:placetype w:st="on">Academy</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Management</st1:placename> meeting in <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Philadelphia</st1:place></st1:city>, I wanted to share with you a very exciting All-Academy Symposium that a group of us have put together.  It is entitled "Corporations and the 21st Century:  Do Today's Companies Need to Change to Meet Tomorrow's Needs?" and is scheduled for Tuesday morning, August 7, 8:30, in the Loews Regency Ballroom B.

The all-star panel on this symposium consists of:

    • <st1:personname w:st="on">Allen White</st1:personname>, founder of Corporation 2020 (and co-founder of the Global Reporting Initiative), and
    • <st1:personname w:st="on">Mark Goyder</st1:personname>, founder of <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:country-region w:st="on">England</st1:country-region></st1:place>'s Tomorrow's Company, who are the keynotes on the panel.

<st1:personname w:st="on">Allen White</st1:personname> and <st1:personname w:st="on">Mark Goyder</st1:personname> will be provocative in answering the query in the title in the affirmative, based on their experiences and insights with their organizations, and their responses will be commented on and discussed by a great group of panelists:

    • Simon Zadek, CEO of England's AccountAbility
    • Peter Lacy, Managing Director, EABIS (<st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">European</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Academy</st1:placetype></st1:place> of Business in Society)
    • Jane Nelson, Director, CSR Initiative, <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Harvard</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Kennedy</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">School</st1:placetype></st1:place> of Government, and
    • James Post, Professor of Management and Public Policy, <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Boston</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype></st1:place>

I will introduce and moderate the panel-and we all hope to see you there for this profoundly important-and on-going-conversation!

Just as a note, I am also part of another All-Academy Symposium that may also be of interest to you entitled "Doing Better at Doing Good:  Broadening the Base of the Pyramid," which is scheduled for Monday, August 6, at 12:20 in the Regency Ballroom B, of the Loews.

Hope to see you all at both of these exciting events.

    Best to all,
