CECIL B. DAY CHAIR IN BUSINESS ETHICS
POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
The <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">College</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Management</st1:placename></st1:place> at the Georgia Institute of Technology is seeking applications and nominations for the Cecil B. Day Chair in Business Ethics. Cecil B. Day, Sr., founder of Days Inns of America, Inc., was a successful business leader and loyal graduate of Georgia Tech who exhibited a life of integrity and honor.
The ideal candidate will be an internationally renowned scholar in Business Ethics. We seek an exceptional scholar who also has a record of achievement as a classroom instructor for both traditional and executive audiences. The ideal candidate would be able to build relations with the business community, as well as with other relevant units at Georgia Tech, and provide leadership in the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">College</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Management</st1:placename></st1:place> for augmenting our course offerings and general activities/programs in the area of Business Ethics.
The <st1:placetype w:st="on">College</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Management</st1:placename> is located in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">Atlanta</st1:city>, <st1:country-region w:st="on">Georgia</st1:country-region></st1:place> and emphasizes excellence in the traditional areas of management while focusing on the interdisciplinary areas of management of technology, international business, and entrepreneurial and innovative processes. The College is the home for a Center for International Business Education & Research (CIBER), and a National Science Foundation IGERT graduate program on technology commercialization. The College is AACSB accredited and has 1,200 undergraduate majors, 200 MBA students, 40 Ph.D. students, approximately 100 students in the Executive Master of Science in Management of Technology degree program, and 30 students in the Global Executive MBA degree program.
The College hosts an annual International Finance Conference sponsored by Fortis, Inc., an annual Roundtable on Engineering Entrepreneurship Research, and an Impact Speakers Series featuring CEOs of technology companies. The College provides an intellectually stimulating research environment. The faculty members are active in research and publish in leading journals, books, monographs, and conference proceedings. The College occupies a state-of-the-art building on the Georgia Tech campus.
