A "broader" audience for comments on name change for SIM

    Hello,

A couple of people have referred to this SIM listserv as being a "wider" or "broader" discussion. I am not certain if you are referring to "broader" in terms of a broader topic or broader audience. If it is the latter, then I wish to note that the blog offers a much larger and broader audience than this listserv. Only about 500 people subscribe to this listserv (not all of whom are SIM members), while about 1,400 belong to SIM and received Tom Donaldson's initial email discussing the proposed changes. Additionally, this listserv requires a registration to participate, while the blog was intentionally set up so that no registration is required. Of course the people most interested in SIM probably belong to this listserv, but I wanted to highlight that the blog was set up to make it easy for all SIM members to offer their input on this important decision.
