Last week the Academy of Management moved the SIM Listserv, SIM-L, to a
new listserv system. For the most part it operates in the same way, but
there are some new administrative procedures and new features of which
you should be aware. First, to send a message the SIM listserv, you now
send an email to:
sim@aomlists.pace.edu
Second, to change any of your listserv options such as to leave the list
or to switch from receiving individual emails to one daily digest with
all SIM listserv emails from that day, you now need a listserv password.
This same password will be used for all Academy of Management listservs
to which you belong. To set your listserv password, go to
http://aomlists.pace.edu and click on "Get a LISTSERV password for this
server" on the left side of page. The directions will then guide you in
creation of your password.
Third, once you have a password, you can change your email delivery
options. The options are to receive individual SIM emails throughout the
day or to receive a digest of all the SIM emails from the day in one
email message. A new feature is that the digest can send an email index,
which is an email message that contains a list of the day's email
subject headers with a link to the message on the server, but does not
contain the original email message itself. With this feature you avoid
having to scroll through messages that do not interest you to get to a
message you would like to read. The downside is that when you click on
the link, the message opens your Internet browser and displays the
message in the browser.
To change your delivery options, go to
http://aomlists.pace.edu and
click on "Subscriber's Corner" in the upper left of the page and follow
the instructions.
Fourth, the new server system now archives all messages sent to the
list. You can search or view past SIM emails by going to:
http://aomlists.pace.edu/archives/sim.html
