SIM Plenary
Jennifer Griffin, SIM Division Chair, will be giving her chair's address at 11:30 am on Tuesday in the Loews Philadelphia Hotel, Regency Ballroom B. The title of her address is "SIM: Making a Difference, Making an Impact?!" Audience participation is requested. Come hear what will be an engaging address and discussion!
William H. Newman and Carolyn Dexter Award nominees
Every year the program chair nominates two papers for Academy-wide awards: the William H. Newman Award for the best paper based on a dissertation completed in the last years and the Carolyn Dexter award for the best international paper. This year's nominees and the sessions during which they will be presenting their papers are:
William H. Newman Award: "CEO open executive orientation and positive CSR initiative adoption," by Daina Mazutis of IMD. Her paper will be presented during the How Organizational Leaders Affect Responsible Firm Behavior session on Tuesday, August 3 in from 8:00 am to 9:30 am in the the Loews Philadelphia Hotel, Commonwealth A2.
Carolyn Dexter Award: "Vocabularies of divergent legitimizing strategies and their effect on ethical standardization," by Melanie Maria Ganter of the University of St. Gallen. Her paper will be presented during the Legitimacy and Responsibility session on Tuesday, August 3 from 3:00 to 4:30 pm in the Loews Philadelphia Hotel, Commonwealth C.
Emerald Best International Symposium Award
Emerald is sponsoring an award for the best international symposium. Two symposia co-submitted to SIM are finalists for the award, which will be announced during the Carolyn Dexter Award Reception on Sunday, August 3 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel, Room Freedom E/F:

As I noted in yesterday's update, there are three symposia submitted to SIM that are on the All Academy Theme program. All of these symposia will occur on Sunday, August 3.
