(Apologies for cross-postings)
The submissions website for the 2018 International Association for Business & Society conference, which will be held June 7-10, is now open for submissions. The conference theme is "Making the Invisible Visible in Business & Society Research." The conference will be held at the YMCA Salisbury, a four-star hotel and conference center in Tsim Sha Tsui. The submissions deadline is December 15, 2017.
Information about the conference is available on the IABS website (and will be updated with additional information as it becomes available):
This year, IABS will be using a new conference management system called EasyChair. To submit proposals to the conference, you'll first create an account by following this link: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iabs2018. After you create an account, log in to your account, enter the site as an author and follow the instructions.
Submissions will be accepted for the following presentation/session types:
Discussion session proposals allow you to get feedback share an idea that is in the early to middle stages of development but is not yet paper-ready.
Submission requirements (note the new format for discussion session proposals this year!)
500 words (not inclusive of references and supporting materials) that include the following information.
- A one sentence description of the research question
- Brief answers to the following five questions:
o Why is this research question interesting?
o Why hasn't this research been done before in the way that you want to do it?
o (If an empirical study) Where might your data come from?
o How would you define "success" if you pursue this line of research?
o Who would benefit from your research?
These will be peer and blind reviewed. No A/V will be available (which of course means no PowerPoint!); rather, you'll bring copies of your proposal and/or whatever you'd like comments on from session attendees.
Paper session proposals are for research that is close to journal submission (or that realistically will be before the conference), but you'd like to get feedback on beforehand.
No more than five single-spaced pages (not inclusive of references and supporting materials). These will be peer and blind reviewed. A/V will be available, and the traditional presentation paradigm will apply.
Symposia proposals focus on a particular area of business and society research or on a specific teaching-related topic.
No more than five single-spaced pages (not inclusive of references and supporting materials), that includes a discussion of the topic and audience, format of the symposium, and listing of symposium presenters. These will be peer (but not blind) reviewed. Please also indicate whether you will need A/V for the symposium.
Workshop proposals are appropriate for working meetings that focus on a specific research or teaching challenge. These will be peer (but not blind) reviewed. Please also indicate whether you will need A/V for the workshop.
