1. If you haven't made hotel reservations yet, do it today!!! The deadline for the IABS rate (865 HKD plus 10 percent service charge) has been extended to March 14 (Hong Kong time), which is essentially today. Here's the page to do that: http://iabs.net/Conference/ConferenceVenueandHotel.aspx. Instructions on how to get the IABS rate are on that webpage. This is a substantial discount from the regular hotel rate, so make sure you book your room today if you haven't already.
2. There will be a combined doctoral student/junior faculty consortium that starts at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 6 and ends mid-afternoon on Thursday, June 7. Registration is free; more information will be sent to those who register for consortium. The consortium will address a variety of topics, including developing interesting research questions, publishing in business & society journals, and managing both co-author relationships and the review process.
3. And, a writing camp has been added to the pre-conference schedule. Brad Agle, current president of IABS, will be coordinating the writing camp again this year, which will be on Tuesday, June 5 and Wednesday, June 6 (with an optional meeting Monday evening, June 4, for dinner). Do you have a project that you're trying to advance toward journal submission? This is a great opportunity to make progress on it, getting feedback from fellow IABS members. This year's workshop will cost $60 and include lunch on both days. I'll send an update when registration is available for the writing camp, but you may want to adjust your travel schedule and hotel reservation accordingly if you plan to attend, in addition to adding it to your personal calendar.
