Dear members of the SIM Division,

By now many of you are in Anaheim or are packing to go there for the Academy of Management annual meeting. Last week, you received information about the SIM/Society for Business Ethics Joint Keynote and Reception, and also about the Professional Development Workshop Program on Friday and Saturday. I'll now tell you about the SIM-wide activities from Sunday through Tuesday.

    Sunday, August 7

Want to hear about the latest cutting-edge research by emerging scholars? Come hear the SIM Best Dissertation Finalists talk about their work (4:00-5:00 pm; Anaheim Marriott, San Diego).

The SIM Salon (6:00-7:00 pm; Anaheim Marriott, Grand Ballroom Salon B) will explore the conference theme, Making Organizations Meaningful, and its meaning for SIM research.

In addition, there are six discussion paper sessions slated for Sunday.

    Monday, August 8

Before attending lots of SIM paper sessions and symposia, come to the IABS/SIM Jumpstart Breakfast with the editors of Business & Society (7:30-8:00 am; Anaheim Marriott, Orange County Ballroom 3). It's a great way to learn about the journal over breakfast!

The afternoon and evening are taken up with the SIM Business Meeting (4:45-6:15 pm) followed by the SIM Social Gathering (6:30-9:00 pm), both in the Anaheim Marriott, Center Marquis Ballroom. At the business meeting, we'll talk about the division's activities, elect two members of next year's nominating committee, celebrate the winners of SIM awards, and pass the gavel to Jamie Hendry, next year's division chair. The social-well, it's a social with food, drink, and good friends. Please come to both!

    Tuesday, August 9

The SIM Annual Plenary will be from 9:45 to 11:15 am in the Anaheim Marriott, Northwest Marquis Ballroom. This year's plenary is organized around the life and work of the late Ann Buchholtz, who received the division's Sumner Marcus Award last year in honor of her scholarship and her service to the field. Each participant in the plenary will address the following question: What are the themes from Ann's life and work that should influence future research within SIM? We will leave lots of time for questions, reflections, and a celebration of Ann. I'll be accompanied by three scholars and friends of Ann's: Jill Brown, Lori Ryan, and Christine Shropshire.

I look forward to seeing many, many of you soon!

    Best,

    Harry
