Hello, all,
Thought I'd piggy-back on Harry's message with a reminder that PDW proposals are also due on Tuesday, January 14 by 5:00 PM. Many of you have told me that the PDWs are your favorite part of the Academy or that good PDWs have made a real difference in the quality of the entire Meetings for you. Let's work together to make this a successful group of sessions this year, addressing a wide range of interests for SIMians!
Have you led a PDW in the past that was successful? If so, perhaps you want to submit a proposal for an updated version. Or maybe you've attended a PDW for a different division and can imagine how something similar could be done for SIM. Have you gone to a SIM PDW and would like to see it repeated? Why not contact one of the scholars who led it and offer to help organize it this year? Do you have a new idea but aren't sure whether it will be of interest? Send me a quick email, and we can confer.
As a reminder, I've attached the PDW Call for Proposals. I look forward to getting something from you!
Best regards,
Jamie

To all,
One of the joys of being Program Chair for SIM is seeing all of the submissions come in. (Kinda like Christmas, but in January.) I'm sure many of you are working on your papers and symposia now. Thus far there are 22 paper submissions and three symposia proposals, but I anticipate many, many more of both! With 11 days to go before the Academy of Management annual meeting submission deadline, I'd like to offer two gentle reminders:
1. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, January 14 at 5:00 pm US ET. All submissions are to be made online at http://submissions.aomonline.org/2014. The AOM submissions system gets really slow on the last day, so early submissions are encouraged.
2. The Program Chairs have all agreed that papers and symposium proposals that do not meet the submission guidelines (http://aom.org/annualmeeting/submission/scholarly/guidelines/) will not be reviewed or sent back to submitters for revision. The sheer volume of submissions and the tight timeframes make it impossible for me to ask submitters for changes, and consistently applied guidelines make the review process fair for all submitters. This year, for example, the Program Developer system that program chairs use indicates the number of pages for each paper submission, allowing them to see which paper submissions have gone over the 40-page maximum. Double-check your paper submissions and symposium proposals to make sure that they meet all of the guidelines!
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at sim2014philly@gmail.com.
Finally, if you haven't signed up to be a reviewer for SIM yet, please do so at http://review.aomonline.org/. I (literally) cannot do it without you!
Best,
Harry
