Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is looking to fill the following position:
Dean, College of Business, Daytona Beach Campus
The ideal candidate will have a proven record of success in growing enrollments, championing new programs, and working in an interdisciplinary environment. Candidates will hold a terminal degree in a discipline within the respective college.
The ideal candidate will have a proven record of success in growing enrollments, championing new programs, and working in an interdisciplinary environment. Given the Mission of the University, a background in aviation and aerospace or a related field is preferred. As the chief academic and administrative officer of the college, the dean has the following responsibilities.
Setting and articulating a strategic vision while effectively managing the fiscal resources of the college and the academic units.
· Development of a strategic plan for increasing domestic and international enrollments in conjunction with the Associate VP for Enrollment Management.
· Recruitment and development of faculty committed to excellence in teaching and scholarship.
· Appointment, promotion, tenure, and salary administration of college faculty.
· Oversight of the quality, effectiveness, evaluation, and viability of the existing curricula and degrees of the college.
· Development of new curricula and degrees commensurate with the strategic goals of the university.
· Oversight of accreditation and representation to the accrediting body.
· Advocacy for the issues of specific interest and concern to the students of the college.
· Development and oversight of retention strategies for the college.
· Alumni relations for the college.
· Development and maintenance of external relationships with the community and industry.
· Development of research and other appropriate initiatives within and among the colleges of the campus and the university.
· Promotion of diversity, shared governance, and uses of technology within the college.
· Representation and participation in college, campus, and university committees, deliberations, and events.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated effective leadership in an academic administrative position at the department head level or higher; and will have a record of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service commensurate with appointment as a tenured full professor. Candidates will hold a terminal degree in a discipline within the respective college.
