I wanted to circulate the following message on behalf of David Primo as this conference is relevant to SIM members.

    Thanks,
    Brian Richter

    Dear Colleagues,

This is a reminder about the upcoming February 1, 2016 deadline for submitting papers for the 16th annual Strategy and the Business Environment Conference will be held at the Simon Business School at the University of Rochester on April 29-30, 2016. This conference explores the interrelationships between the business strategies of firms and the social, legal, and political environment in which they operate. The conference will bring together scholars interested in integrating business environment issues and business strategy.

We are receptive to a wide range of research perspectives and methodologies, including formal theoretical modeling, quantitative research drawing upon historical/archival data, surveys, or publicly available data, and qualitative research. We are particularly interested in papers that have implications for management. Papers drawn from economics, political science, strategic management, and other fields are within the realm of the conference.

If you have a paper that you would like to present at the conference, or would like to be considered for discussant duties, please email the paper and/or your interest in serving as a discussant to david.primo@rochester.edu no later than February 1, 2016. (If you are bumping against the deadline of February 1, please let us know, as we would rather have your submission a few days late than not at all!) The conference hosts will cover the travel expenses of the paper presenters and discussants.

Please contact us (Dave Primo at david.primo@rochester.edu or Mark Zupan at mark.zupan@simon.rochester.edu) with any questions.

Please feel free to forward this message to others who might be interested. And, if you are no longer interested in receiving emails about this or future SBE conferences, please send Dave an email and your name will be removed from the mailing list permanently.

    Sincerely,

Professors Dave Primo and Mark Zupan
    Simon Business School
    University of Rochester
