Please join us for this year's annual SIM/SBE keynote address and reception, which will begin at 5:30 PM in the Oval Room of the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel, 138 St. James Avenue in Boston. Our speaker this year will be Dr. Frank Dobbin, Professor of Sociology at Harvard University (
http://scholar.harvard.edu/dobbin/biocv). Dr. Dobbin is a celebrated contemporary Sociologist who studies "organizations, inequality, economic behavior, and public policy", often using comparative historical analysis. He has twice been awarded the Max Weber book award from the American Sociological Association, first in 1996 for "Forging Industrial Policy" and again in 2010 for "Inventing Equal Opportunity". He was also awarded the Mary Parker Follett award from the American Political Science Association in 2000 for "Civil Rights Law at Work".
