Please excuse the cross postings:
For an "R&R" I need some help finding examples of companies that have had strong social/environmental performance and then in the face of poor economic results had to scale back their efforts. I know this happened to Church and Dwight (Arm & Hammer baking soda) in the late 90s but have not been able to find any specific thing that I can cite. In this case the only specific evidence I can find is the company went from reporting a environmental manager in the 96 edition of the Directory of Corporate Public Affairs to no longer reporting such a person in the 98 edition. If anyone has an idea for a citation on this example or another example please send it to me at msharfman@ou.edu.
regards
