Detailed Job Description
The College of Business Administration (CBA) at the University of Rhode Island is seeking applicants for a full-time tenure track appointment at the Assistant level with responsibility for teaching courses in strategy and entrepreneurship beginning in July, 2018.
CBA is the first accredited business school in Rhode Island and is recognized for its leadership in business education, research, and outreach. Located on the URI Quad in Ballentine Hall, CBA is the only institution in Rhode Island with AACSB accredited programs at the undergraduate, Master's, and PhD levels.
Located in the historic village of Kingston, the University of Rhode Island is close to the ocean and major beaches. Our 1,200-acre campus is a handsome mix of ivy-covered buildings and contemporary architecture. It is 30 miles south of Providence, and within easy reach of Newport, Boston, and New York City.
Responsibilities:
Teaching at the graduate and/or undergraduate level in the areas of strategy, entrepreneurship, global management, and/or healthcare management. Research and publishing, supervising doctoral research, and service contribution are required.
Qualifications
Required:
1. Earned doctorate (candidates who expect to finish their Ph.D. prior to July 1, 2018 are also encouraged to apply) in strategic management, entrepreneurship, business economics, international strategy, sociology, economics or related disciplines.
2. Evidence of research potential (e.g. publications, or presentations in peer-reviewed conferences).
3. Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
4. Demonstrated ability to undertake a rigorous program of research.
5. Demonstrated ability to engage in innovative teaching on an individual and team basis.
6. Ability to engage in service activities; e.g. at the college, university, and professional levels, including work with the state and the business communities.
7. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
8. Demonstrated proficiency in oral communication skills.
9. Demonstrated experience working with diverse groups/populations.

Preferred:
1. Research program in one of these areas: Sustainability, Strategy (market and/or non-market), Global Management, and/or Healthcare management.
2. Experience teaching at the undergraduate level and/or graduate level.
3. Demonstrated evidence of scholarly publication.
4. Experience in grant writing.
