Program Director of the MS in Sustainability Management (MSSM) Program

Kogod School of Business invites nominations and applications for a term-faculty or tenure-track faculty position in sustainability for Academic Year 2015-16 (beginning Fall 2015). The term faculty position will be a renewable full time non-tenure position carrying the rank of Executive in Residence or Term Assistant Professor as appropriate. The tenure track position will carry the rank of Associate or Full Professor. Depending on qualifications, the appointee to the tenure-track position may be recommended for tenure at the time of hiring.

Qualifications. The requirements for this position are a PhD or a related terminal degree. The candidate must have a proven track record of teaching excellence preferably in business school courses. A strong commitment and evidence of productive scholarly research is required for tenure track candidates and a plus for term faculty candidates. Extensive work experience in sustainability will be considered in lieu of a PhD degree for term faculty candidates.

Responsibilities. Providing administrative, academic, and strategic sustainability leadership for the MSSM program including attracting, retaining and placing high-quality students, implementing pedagogical improvements such as curriculum development, monitoring the academic quality of the program, and coordinating closely with Kogod staff and faculty. Engaging the business and policy-making communities, strengthening existing ties, and promoting the Kogod School of Business and the MSSM program to outside constituents.

Teaching sustainability and related courses, both at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Participation in department, school, and university activities. Additionally, for tenure track candidates, research focused at top tier and high quality journals is required.

The administrative position of Program Director of the MSSM program comes with a reduced teaching load in order to enable the Program Director to primarily focus on managing and developing the MSSM program. The administrative title, course releases, and any additional compensation are subject to periodic review for renewal based on performance and administrative need.

Application. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. An application must include a cover letter, a current and complete curriculum vitae or résumé, three letters of recommendation, and copies of all teaching evaluations.
