Dear SIM members,
I want to call your attention to a Business & Society call for papers
entitled "Quants and Poets: Advancing methods and methodologies in B&S
research". The guest editors of this special issue are Andrew Crane, York
University; Irene Henriques, York University; Bryan Husted, York University
and ITESM; and Dirk Matten, York University.
The purpose of this special issue is to expand our knowledge of methods and
methodologies - qualitative and quantitative - by encouraging B&S scholars
to:
• critically categorize, analyze and evaluate the
methodologies in the
existing B&S literature;
• identify and problematize methodological challenges
specific to research
in the B&S field;
• highlight methodological challenges currently overlooked
in B&S research;
• apply new methods and methodologies from other
disciplines to B&S research;
• develop new methods and methodologies for B&S research;
• provide a showcase for excellent examples of quantitative
and qualitative
research design in B&S research;
Two types of papers will be considered for publication in the special
issue:
(i) Full Papers addressing any aspect of B&S method and methodologies
(approx. 40 pages); (ii) shorter length Research Notes that deal with a
specific technical issue or problem in a B&S method.
SUBMISSION PROCESS AND DEADLINES
Authors should submit their manuscripts through ScholarOne Manuscripts by
July 1, 2015.
The editors welcome informal enquiries related to the proposed topics.
All articles will be double-blind peer reviewed by at least three anonymous
referees.
Special Issue Workshop:
To help authors prepare their manuscripts for submission, a Special Issue
Workshop will be held at the 2015 IABS Conference in Costa Rica to be held
in March 2015 (final date TBC). Authors are invited to present and discuss
their papers during the workshop. Presentation at the workshop does not
guarantee acceptance of the paper for publication in Business and Society.
To be considered for the workshop, please send your working paper to the
BAS
Editors at
BASeditors@schulich.yorku.ca by December 5, 2014. Submission of
a paper to the workshop is not a precondition for submission to the
Special Issue.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact any one of us
at the e-mails below.
Please feel free to send this call to any colleague who you think would be
interested.
Thanking you in advance for your consideration,
