Those conducting research in the area of social change or social entrepreneurship may be interested in an upcoming Webinar conducted by Dr. Ute Stephan at the University of Sheffield. (This Webinar was rescheduled from an earlier date.) The Webinar draws on a recently-completed systematic review of the existing literature on "How can companies help change people's behaviour in order to benefit society?" Dr. Stephan and colleagues examined how businesses can enable behaviour change related to the environment, health, civic engagement and social inclusion. The study was produced by the Network for Business Sustainability (NBS; http://nbs.net/).
The Webinar is offered at two times, Wednesday, April 10, 1-2 pm EDT and Tuesday, April 16, 12-1 pm EDT. Intended for managers and researchers, it will review:
· The three conditions necessary for people to change their behavior
· The 19 mechanisms companies can use to drive positive behaviour change
· Tips for managing successful change projects
· Examples from companies including Unilever, Home Depot, Walmart, Tim Hortons and Danone
