Dear SIM and SBE members,
As many of you have heard, due to spiraling costs and constrained resources, SIM and SBE are together re-evaluating the joint keynote address and reception that has been a highlight of both organizations' annual meetings for many years. SBE and SIM have agreed to hold a joint keynote address and reception on the Saturday evening of the 2019 Society for Business Ethics annual conference in Boston, which SBE will organize. SIM will co-sponsor that event, SIM members will remain welcome to attend while displaying their AoM badges, and an additional division of the Academy of Management may also be invited to join and co-sponsor the keynote event if the keynote address is of interest to them. However, in the interest of financial sustainability the food and particularly beverages offered at the reception will be less generous than in the past.
SIM and SBE have enjoyed a close and generative relationship over many years, and look forward to continuing that relationship even as the particular programming associated with it is adjusted. We both look forward to seeing many of you at the joint keynote and reception in Boston next August!- David and JasonDr. Jason Stansbury, Executive Director, Society for Business Ethics
