    Call for Nominations

    2008 Annual Book Award

Social Issues in Management Division of the Academy of Management

Each year, the Social Issues in Management Division of the Academy of Management honors one book for its contribution to scholarship in the discipline. The key criteria in selecting the book is that is must deserve to be read (either by virtue of its impact on the field or its potential to have impact on the field), its theoretical and conceptual development and/or empirical soundness.

This year's SIM Book Award Nominating and Selection Committee kindly requests your nominations for the 2008 Best Book Award.  Books that qualify must have been published (as indicated by the copyright date) in the five-year period from January 2003 through December 2007.  No edited volumes or textbooks will be considered.  The nomination deadline is: March 15, 2008.

It is critical that we get SIM Division members active in the process.  We look forward to your suggestions.  Please help us in this important process for our division.

If you have any questions or comments about the procedure and eligible books, please contact David Wasieleski at 412-396-1092 or, on email at wasieleski@duq.edu.

    Best regards,

David Wasieleski, Chair, 2008 SIM Book Award Committee
